TedMet Insulation Jacketing is DuPont™ Tedlar® laminated on the topside.
Tedlar® is a polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film and is factory applied to the metal using an innovative process developed by BS Stainless Limited.
TedMet’s high emissivity property helps in thermal radiation process to ensure lower surface temperature of the pipeline. TedMet also exhibits exceptional abrasion and weather resistance properties along with high resistance to chemical attack make it an ideal jacketing system to be used outdoors in areas of extreme weather conditions. The film thickness is 1.5 mil (37.5 μ)
TedMet is also available with a range of options for the underside of the jacketing:
- Polyester paint or other paint systems such as PVDF or as required by the specification
- SoundMet acoustic jacketing for effective noise insulation to comply with ISO 15665
- DryMet poly film moisture barrier to prevent galvanic corrosion of the jacketing
Most common base metals for TedMet are Series 300, Stainless Steel and Aluminium, other metals are available as per project specification. Corrugated, embossed and other profiles are also available in TedMet.
Our metal jacketing meet the latest ASTM standards for aluminum jacketing ASTM C1729 and for stainless steel jacketing ASTM C1767.
Coolmet can be combined with Drymet which is a factory applied moisture barrier, the mositure barrier combines layers of Poly and Surlyn ® to form a protective internal barrier thus preventing corrosion on the inside more information on Drymet

TedMet and SoundMet can also be produced as one jacket with to easily and efficiently solve acoustic issues, with SoundMet on the underside and TedMet on the outside to provide the system with the advantages of both products in a fraction of the typical install time.
Material is securely fastened in place using Bandfix® Banding and wing seals and works along with the rest of our range of Bandfix ® ancillary products for metal jacketing.
